Infant Moses (A Diaper Ministry) – Last day Sept 25th

A ministry of Grace Lutheran Church Kenosha.

After over 10 years this ministry will be ending due to a loss of funding. The last days for diaper pick up are Sept 18th and 25th after this any remaining diapers will be donated to other groups who give out diapers.

Grace Lutheran’s Infant Moses diaper ministry offers free diapers and wipes every Thursday afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00.

About Infant Moses

The Infant Moses Diaper Ministry opened on January 8, 2015, and has been helping our community for nine and a half years. It’s run entirely by volunteers, and all the donations go directly to providing diapers and wipes for families in need.

Originally, five women started this ministry, and one of them is still working with us today. We’ve also welcomed two new volunteers and have four part-time volunteers who help out.

Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and older siblings come in to pick up small packages of diapers and wipes. The number of items varies based on the size of the diaper. We rely heavily on donations of diapers, wipes, and money to keep this ministry going.

Stats

Here’s a brief look at our yearly statistics:

In 2018, we served 1,230 babies.
In 2019, we served 1,405 babies.
In 2020, we served 857 babies, which was affected by COVID-19 and social unrest.
In 2021, we served 802 babies, with stimulus payments possibly affecting our numbers.
In 2022, we served 1,187 babies.
In 2023, we served 2,102 babies.

Here are the numbers of diapers we distributed each year:

In 2018, we distributed 14,110 diapers.
In 2019, we distributed 16,341 diapers.
In 2020, we distributed 9,649 diapers.
In 2021, we distributed 9,056 diapers.
In 2022, we distributed 15,382 diapers and added size 7.
In 2023, we distributed 27,768 diapers and added Boys’ and Girls’ 5T-6T.

The Infant Moses Diaper Ministry of Grace Lutheran Church, Kenosha has been serving families in need since January 2015. Over the past 9.5 years, we’ve provided diapers and wipes to thousands of families—thanks to your generosity!

Our mission at Grace Lutheran Church is:

This year alone, we’ve already served 3,000 babies, and the need keeps growing. Last Thursday, we helped 94 babies in one day!
