World Day of Prayer for Creation bulletin

Grace will be the site of a “World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation” prayer service this Friday, September 1 at 5:00 p.m. The worship service will be outdoors in the church courtyard if weather permits; otherwise, we will gather in the sanctuary.

This will kick off Grace church’s celebration of Season of Creation September 1 through October 4.
The World Day of Prayer for Care of Creation started among the Orthodox Christian community in 1989 with the leadership of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, “the Green Patriarch.” September 1 is the beginning of the Orthodox liturgical year.

In 2015, Pope Francis announced that the Roman Catholic Church would join the Orthodox Church in celebrating this World Day of Prayer, a move that was quickly followed by the National Council of Churches USA.

Grace In the City for Good

The Lord moves in mysterious ways, but we’re staying right here.

Grace Lutheran Kenosha is not closing. God is powerfully working in our midst and we will continue to worship at our current location of 2006 60th Street. (We have been hearing rumors that people think we are closing or selling our building. We are not.)

At the beginning of this year, Amistad Cristiana was able to buy their own building. This has freed up our gym and part of our education wing. We are hoping to find someone that would like to use this space. There is a listing at this link.

August 13 worship service

Here is video of Grace Lutheran Church’s worship service on August 13, 2023, the eleventh Sunday after Pentecost, Rev. Jonathan Barker presiding, with Ian Clyne and David and Gracie Underwood leading the music.
